The term ‘professional’, as we’re using it, is ‘an expert musician/performer that receives compensation for their performance.’

The biggest difference between an amateur and a professional performers is attitude and commitment.

I know a guy that comes out to my open mic. He rarely is prepared. He says inappropriate things on the mic.
I asked him why he acts that way. He said, ‘you’re not paying me.’

As soon as you agree to perform for money or barter, you must approach your performance in a professional manner.

Whether you’re playing out once a month or 5-times a week, commit yourself to exceeding the expectations of the venue and the audience.
